Queensland Health blamed for " a culture which paid little attention to quality of care" . SING ASKS: WHAT ELSE IS NEW?
WHAT ELSE IS NEW WITHIN QUEENSLAND HEALTH?
A culture that encourages others to 'SHOOT THE MESSENGER' when serious matters of wrongdoing are brought to their attention
A culture that encourages others to label Public Interest Whistleblowers as troublemakers, having personality conflicts or being racists
A culture that encourages bureaucrats to cover up wrongdoing rather than deal with the issue in the first instance
A culture that encourages others to remain silent by making examples of Public Interest Whistleblowers who dare to speak out
A culture that encourages those in positions of power to make a scapegoat of anyone who dares to speak out in the Public Interest
A culture that encourages deliberate delay of evidence gathering to give those in positions of power enough time to re-write history
SING suggest that Queensland Health's Code of Conduct (Code of Cover Up) should be re-written:
DENY
DISCREDIT
DELAY
DECEIVE
DEMORALISE
DESTROY
SING ADVISES THE GENERAL PUBLIC:
AT THE TIME OF THIS SERIOUS CASE, ANOTHER DEBACLE WAS TAKING PLACE AT QUEENSLAND HEALTH'S EVENTIDE NURSING HOME, BRIGHTON (SANDGATE), BRISBANE.
THOSE IN POSITIONS OF POWER AT THE TIME WERE:
CHIEF HEALTH OFFICER - GERRY FITZGERALD
DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF HEALTH - STEVE BUCKLAND
MINISTER FOR HEALTH - GORDON NUTTALL
SING ADVISES THE GENERAL PUBLIC:
WHAT ELSE IS NEW?
WHAT HAS CHANGED IN QUEENSLAND HEALTH?
Please see article (1a) Jayant Patel's supervisor, Dr Darren Keating, accused of failing to investigate complaints.
